"Red Horse with a Fringe" is the youngest horse I came across on my first trip to Iceland in December 2022. At around six or seven months old—judging by the usual timing of foals being born in late spring or early summer—he had a sturdy build but still an undeniable innocence. Capturing him alone, separated from the herd, made this photo deeply personal. This moment holds a special place in my heart, as it made me realize one trip would never be enough. There was so much more to discover, inspiring me to continue photographing these remarkable Icelandic horses, each with its own story.
