"The Sexy Horse"

Iceland, 2023.

Like David Bowie or Andy Warhol, this horse has an undeniable charisma. Among all the horses I’ve photographed in Iceland—hundreds of them—this one stands out. He’s my buddy, my special friend, and we’ve built a genuine connection. I photographed him countless times, and whenever I arrived, with no one else around, he’d be there, waiting. He lived about 25 minutes from my place in a magical spot called Arnarstapi, where I’d visit him almost every day. He was the leader of the herd, full of presence and personality.

During my second stay in Iceland in early 2023, our bond grew even stronger. I spent over 60 days there, and when I finally left, I missed him like a close friend. I still think about him often, and I can’t wait to return and capture more moments with him. I know exactly where he roams, and I look forward to seeing him again. This photo, titled "The Sexy Horse," was taken during that second stay in March-April 2023, and it holds a special place in my heart.
