"The Red Foal"

The youngest Icelandic horse I’ve ever photographed, and one of the most special moments I’ve had in Iceland. I’ve visited so many times, but always in winter, so I’ve never been there during the summer when foals are born. This time, I was lucky.

The Red Foal was so tender, so pure, it was almost heartbreaking. I spent a long time photographing him, and with every moment, I felt more connected. I didn’t want to leave. Honestly, I almost felt like I wanted to adopt him.

This photograph is one of the last I took in Iceland in late 2024, and it’s part of the Magic Island collection. It holds such a unique place in my heart. I hope you love it as much as I do.
