Murmurations.
During lockdown, thousands of birds reminded me that freedom still existed somewhere above our heads.

A quiet and reflective collection of images gathered over five years of chasing the shifting shapes of starling flocks.

I never planned to photograph starlings.
Like many people, I found myself spending a lot of time looking out of windows during lockdown.
The world had become strangely small.
But every evening, something happened above me.
Thousands of birds appeared in the sky.
Without realizing it, I started waiting for them.
Not watching the clock.
Watching the horizon.
Looking for that first dark ripple that meant they were coming.
Standing beneath them, I kept having the same thought.
These birds are free.
Truly free.
They cross countries without knowing where one begins and another ends.
They do not care about borders, rules, or the endless systems we build around ourselves.
Watching them became a daily escape.
Then it became an obsession.
Years later, I am still following them.
Not because they are birds.
Because every time they appear, they remind me that freedom is still out there.
